Thank you so much for your interest in the Ohio Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. I am grateful and excited to be taking over as Chapter President for the
2022/23 year.

The AFCC and the Ohio Chapter have never been more relevant and important for those of us who work with court-involved families and others going through major family restructuring. I like to think of our organization as a huge team of professionals – all working toward common goals
– the most important of which is to mitigate damage to children who are innocent bystanders often stuck in the quagmire of complex legal and other challenges created by their parents. Our landscape is constantly changing, and AFCC, including the Ohio Chapter, strives to be the premier source of best practices information, no matter what your practice is.

whether social, political, technological, scientific, economic or otherwise, require that we as professionals, as well as those we help, navigate through new and increasingly complex laws, regulations, rules and other mandates. In addition, the technological tools available to us are
proliferating, and AFCC provides the most up-to-date guidance on which tools provide the best benefit. I have come to heavily rely on the invaluable resources available to me through this organization. My toolbox is ever expanding as a result of the vast knowledge and experience
I’ve found in AFCC.

I strongly urge you to do the same if you’re not already a member. Not only do we have a great deal to offer, but we’re also a great group of people to get to know.

As for the Ohio Chapter, look for a new website with an expanding array of information and materials, more frequent educational opportunities, and more meaningful chances to network. And mark your calendars for the Ohio Chapter’s Conference which will take place on March 29, 2023, in Columbus, Ohio, dealing with the new Ohio Supreme Court Custody Evaluation Rules.
